Most affiliate programs provide you with a "Turnkey" website.  It is a duplicated website that all the members have.  They usually have your name on them, and perhaps a few items that you can actually customize, however that's as far as you can go in making it personal or specific to you. 

Many affiliates choose to create their own site or have a personal website built for them.  It allows you to choose your own domain name (website address) which is usually much shorter than an affiliate url. There are many benefits when you can personalize the site, have more variation, and it gives you the marketing ability to promote more than one opportunity or product.  One of the biggest advantages to having your own personal website is that you have complete control.  The other advantage is that you do not have to be an affiliate and can choose your own products or opportunities to market.  The possibilities are endless when you have your own website!
